David Graham

David Graham was appointed to assist Nicholas Danby, then Director of Music at Farm Street Church, in 1981. Following Danby's death in 1997 he assumed the responsibility of the Directorship of Music. David Graham is professor in charge of Organ Studies at the Royal College of Music( www.rcm.ac.uk ) where he has taught since 1987. He studied at the RCM with Nicholas Danby, at the Sweelinck Conservatrium in Amsterdam with Klaas Bolt, and more recently improvisation with Naji Hakim and Peter Planyavsky. During 1993 he toured the East Coast of the USA with the Ulster Orchestra and continues to visit the USA as a solo recitalist on a regular basis. David Graham has given organ recitals throughout the British Isles, Germany, and in Holland, and has recorded for BBC radio. Later this year he will be playing recitals at the National Shrine of St Francis in San Francisco and at Notre-DameCathedral in Paris. Earlier this year he taught at the Malmo Academy in Sweden and in February 1999 he was Visiting Artist at the Academy for Performing Arts in Hong Kong.

 

Duncan Aspden became Associate Director of Music in 2004 and as such shares both directing and accompanying duties with David Graham. A former Organ Scholar of Canterbury Cathedral and Jesus College Cambridge, Duncan held further positions at Bristol and Chelmsford Cathedrals, and is currently undertaking further study in Choral Direction at the Royal Academy of Music ( www.ram.ac.uk ).

Duncan has performed for BBC radio and television, made a number of recordings, and has directed choirs in concerts throughout Europe. He has won several prizes as both conductor and organist, and has recently appeared in the London Handel and Utrecht Early Music Festivals. Alongside his work at Farm Street, he is also currently Musical Director of the St Peters Singers ( www.stpeterssingers.org ) Conductor of the Minerva Consort; works as a continuo player with a number of soloists and groups; and in September he will add the position of Director of Music of the City of Oxford Choir ( www.oxfordchoir.org ).
