Outreach
Wherever in the Church, even in the most difficult and extreme fields, in the crossroads of ideologies, in the front line of social conflict, there has been and there is confrontation between the deepest desires of the human person and the perennial message of the Gospel, there too, there have been, and there are, Jesuits.

Pope Paul VI Allocution to the 32nd General Congregation
Farm Street is a major channel of charitable funding and we have regular appeals for a variety of worthy causes. In addition, we are able to come to the immediate need of victims of disaster using the Jesuit network to ensure that donations reach their target.

"Helping Hand"
This is our parish Charities Fund which we have established at Farm Street to help with major projects. Currently we are helping to build chapels for the Catholic community in Kyrgyzstan and classrooms for a Catholic parochial school in Islamabad. This year we are also committing ourselves to supporting Christian education in Palestine.

We keep close links with these and other projects to ensure accountability and to help parishioners take a personal interest. Photographs of works are regularly displayed in the church. Helping Hand also assists parishes in London and elsewhere who have specific needs.

Society of the St Vincent de Paul (SVP)
This international voluntary organisation is dedicated to tackling poverty and distress by providing direct assistance to anyone in need. The Farm Street conference of SVP has been active for over 20 years and has many volunteers. They meet at about 8pm every Monday at 114 Mount Street to deliver food and clothing to those living rough. They also undertake home visits as well as supporting SVP conferences abroad.

Jesuit Refugee Service (JRS)
This is an international Catholic organisation with a mission to accompany, serve and defend the rights of refugees and forcibly displaced people. In Britain, JRS works on behalf of all asylum seekers, from their first arrival until they are satisfactorily settled.
This work is carried out in collaboration with JRS offices around the world, other Church and secular organisations. See www.jrsuk.net

Jesuit Missions (JM)
We have a very close relationship with Jesuit Missions. Their work supports members of the Society of Jesus in Britain, Guyana, South Africa, Zimbabwe, and many other countries where Jesuits minister. Jesuit Missions helps the British Province make real its call to proclaim a Faith that does Justice in supporting those Jesuits involved in work overseas. There is an annual appeal and ongoing involvement with Mission projects. See www.jesuitmissions.org.uk

London Jesuit Volunteers (LJV)
LJV was launched in January 2007. It responds to the increasing needs and struggles of those living in poverty in London, the commitment of Mount Street Jesuit Centre to promoting the integration of faith and justice in response to Gospel imperatives and the desire of individuals who wish to live out their faith in social action, and to reflect upon this experience in the Ignatian way. Our volunteers range from 25 to 78 years and full training is provided. Anyone who is interested and who has at least 2-8 hours a week to volunteer within Greater London, should contact LJV via www.jesuitvolunteering.org.uk

"Mission to Mayfair"
This was started in response to the recent economic crisis and is our pastoral outreach to those working in Mayfair. Primarily aimed at the banking and financial services, it also includes shops, galleries and ancillary workers in the services industries as well as the many Embassies located near the church. The programme offers a variety of talks and informal gatherings to discuss issues relating to ethics, social values, corporate culture and spirituality. See the newsletter for upcoming events.
