There will be a classical guitar concert in the church at 7pm on Saturday 13th September 2025. Rising star Jonathan Byrd is a classical guitarist and composer known for his sacred works for solo guitar. For the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, Jonathan is very grateful to be invited to Farm St Church to offer his ‘musical prayer’ Exaltatio Crucis, based on Psalm 30 ‘I will exalt thee, oh God’. Jonathan will also be providing music for the preceding Vigil Mass.

The guitar is an intimate instrument tending toward gentleness and solemnity. So here Jonathan references the more expressive musical language of Spain to achieve a suitable voice for exaltation.

After the 6pm Vigil Mass, please be seated by 7pm. The performance will last around 40 minutes. 

Admission is free / Donations are encouraged. 2025 is Jonathan’s ‘Year Of Giving’ so all donations will go to the church.
